The BrookHaven Benevolent Foundation
In 1995, the directors of Brookville Enterprises, Inc. formed a not-for-profit fund in order to establish a benevolent entity to benefit the residents of the BrookHaven campus and the Brookville community at large. In December of 1995 the BrookHaven Benevolent Foundation was incorporated. The purpose of the Foundation is to provide temporary financial assistance to the residents of BrookHaven campus who are unable to fully meet their financial obligations and to promote choice, independence and dignity for our seniors. In addition, the Foundation carries out other activities exclusively for public charitable purposes.
The BrookHaven Benevolent Foundation strives to enhance the lives of our residents regardless of their financial situation. Aging should not be about limitations and restrictions. It should be about living life comfortably and without the fear of destitution. Donations to the Foundation allow a resident whose resources have been depleted, to stay within the BrookHaven campus, which has become their home. Our residents feel good to be where they are and maintaining, not losing, their edge on life.
Our Goal is to maximize our residents’ ability to be independent and to preserve their dignity as they age.
We are Grateful for Every Gift

Gifts of Cash
If you itemize, you may lower this year’s income taxes by writing us a check on or before December 31. Cash gifts are deductible, up to a maximum of 50% of your adjusted gross income.
Gifts of Real Estate
A residence, vacation home, farm or vacant lot may have appreciated in value over the years. its sale would be a sizable capital gains tax. By making a yearend gift of this property, you avoid capital gains tax plus receive a charitable deduction for the full, market value of the property. The Foundation reserves the right to not accept gifts of real estate.
Gifts of Stock
A gift of appreciated stock can offer a two-fold tax savings. You avoid paying capital gains on the increased value plus you receive a charitable deduction. The stock must be owned for more than a year to quality for tax deductions. A stock broker can assist with a year-end gift of a stock donation.
